The American Epilepsy Society (AES) is one of the oldest neurological professional organizations in this country. Our vision is to eradicate epilepsy and its consequences. Our strategic priorities include education, career development and training, research, the development and implementation of best practices to improve patient care, and the awareness of epilepsy and its impact among public and health care professionals.
AES is one of the largest non-governmental funders for those starting their careers in epilepsy research, with dedication of 85% of our grant dollars. AES early career funding programs, which are supported by generous philanthropic donations and non-profit partners, provide grants to research fellows in training and newly independent investigators working across the full spectrum of epilepsy research, from basic science to translational and clinical research.
